Intersection Improvement Project Construction to Begin in City of Lebanon, N. Cornwall Township, Lebanon County

Harrisburg, PA
– The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction is scheduled to begin on a project to realign Wilhelm Avenue’s intersection with Cornwall Road (Route 2001) in the City of Lebanon and North Cornwall Township, Lebanon County.

Weather permitting, work is expected to begin at the intersection of York Street and Cornwall Road the week of Monday, October 23. There may be traffic disruptions and single lane patterns under flagging Mondays through Thursdays after 8:30 AM and Fridays between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM.

There will be a weekend closure for paving, which is expected to occur sometime next year.

During construction, lanes will be shifted to maintain travel in all directions. However short-term flagging operations may be needed.

The project includes the realignment of Wilhelm Avenue to create a 4-way signalized intersection with York Street and Cornwall Road. Improvements will involve sidewalk connectivity improvements, ADA compliant curb ramps, bike lane accommodations, drainage improvements, lighting, and other miscellaneous construction.

All work is expected to be completed by September 11, 2024.

H&K Group, Inc., of Skippack, PA, is the contractor on this $1,842,599 project.
