Now Hiring Bilingual Receptionist

Lebanon Transit (LT) is a public transit agency that offers a variety of transportation services to the residents of Lebanon County and portions of Dauphin and Lancaster Counties.

LT’s Mission is to provide safe, efficient, convenient and affordable public transportation to Lebanon and surrounding communities.

We are currently seeking a bilingual receptionist to join our team!

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing customer service to clients, processing clerical and administrative duties.
  • Greet customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Answering phones.
  • Transferring phone calls to proper personnel and take messages as needed.
  • Assisting customers with bus schedule information.
  • Register customers for the Half Fare Transit and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 Program (ADA).
  • Typing and filing duties.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and receive incoming mail.
  • Send out Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Applications.
  • Assist customers buying bus passes or coupon books.
  • Assuring all schedules are filled in the racks.
  • Print and fold all bus schedules.
  • Translate English brochures in Spanish.
  • Data Entry for Fixed Route mileage.
  • Schedule trips for Shared Ride services in Ecolane Software.
  • Data entry for Half Fare clients in Access data base.

As determined by management. Essential office functions will be shared with other administrative personnel on an as needed basis. These functions could include but are not limited to:

  • Receiving and entering Shared Ride reservations.
  • Assisting other personnel with tasks when required.
  • Receiving complaints and filling out the proper form.

The hourly wage for this position is $15.00, accompanied by an excellent benefits package.

Now Hiring Manager of Safety & Training

Lebanon Transit has an immediate opening for a Full Time Manager of Safety and Training. This position ensures Lebanon Transit operations and facilities meet the highest standards of safety. This Position is responsible for the following:

  • Establishment of training programs and materials for initial, periodic and remedial instruction.
  • Ensuring all staff members are committed to the principles of Lebanon Transit and skills needed for maintaining a safety sensitive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local laws/ regulations.
  • Develop criteria in conducting operator evaluations
  • Prepare for annual State Association for Transportation Insurance (SAFTI) Safety Review
  • Examine and evaluate the validity of vehicle camera videos
  • Respond to and manage accident investigation and response, including Post-Accident Drug and Alcohol testing.
  • Manage and prepare accident investigation reports and recommend resulting course of action
  • Manage all vehicle, property and liability issues/claims concerning Lebanon Transit
  • Participate in planning, implementation and monitoring of transit services provided by Lebanon Transit
  • Complete National Transit Database (NTD) Monthly/Yearly Reporting
  • Review and update annually the Lebanon Transit Agency Safety Plan.

Qualifications and Skills 

  • High School/College Education (technical or trade school preferred);
  • Valid Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver’s License with “P” Endorsement and Air Brake Restriction Lifted;
  • Attain the Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association (PPTA) Master Trainer Certification within twelve (12) months of hire;
  •  Attain Transportation Supervisor Certificate- Community Transportation Association of America (CCTA) within twelve (12) months of hire;
  • Attain Safety and Security Officer Certificate- Community Transportation Association of America (CCTA) within twelve (12) months of hire;
  • Minimum of three (3) years management experience or equivalent in training and safety field, including the development of staff training programs;
  • Minimum of three years (3) management experience or equivalent related to accident investigation and evaluation;
  • Knowledge and application of Federal, State and local safety regulations and policies;
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to operate office equipment, such as copiers and fax machine;
  • Excellent organizational and record keeping skills;
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary; and
  • Drive for Fixed Route or Shared Ride service when necessary.

Lebanon Transit has an immediate opening for full time & part time van drivers. Shifts will run Tuesday – Saturday. Basic physical requirements will include but not limited to assisting customers with packages on and off vehicles and properly securing wheelchairs. Excellent customer service skills and DOT Physical required. This is an all-weather conditions position. Starting wage is $17.45/hr with annual pay increases.

Now Hiring Dispatcher/Scheduler

Lebanon Transit Shared Ride has an immediate position for a full-time, Monday – Friday with an alternate Saturday, dispatcher and scheduler. Starting wage is $15.00/hr based upon qualifications.
Candidates should have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Job Description: * Answer dispatch line for cancellations, customer information, etc.
  • Check all routes for efficiency and reallocate trips from overloaded routes.
  • Communicate with clinics/customers to inform them of the status of van arrivals/departures.
  • Answer customer calls to schedule trips throughout the day.
  • Become knowledgeable with all programs available; takes reservations for all agencies.
  • Cash handling
