What is the PWD Program?

Lebanon Transit is here to help you get where you need to go. Public transit systems across the nation have established the means to transport anyone regardless of disability. Shared Ride is a service where customers share the vehicle with others taking similar trips.

For persons with disabilities who live and/or travel outside the Fixed Route system, Pennsylvania offers the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Program, which provides service beyond the ADA requirements. Through this program, persons with disabilities who are age 18 through 64 may receive reduced rates on Shared Ride, curb-to- curb, advance reservation transportation services.

PWD Shared Ride provides service outside a 3/4 mile radius surrounding the Fixed Route bus system. Your trip origin and/or destination must be outside 3/4 mile of a fixed bus route, excluding commuter routes.

A Local Advisory Committee assists with the oversight of the services provided under PwD and includes people with disabilities and representatives from the Area Agency on Aging.
